My Destiny…Designs

I believe "MY DESTINY..." was conceived when I was two years old, as every picture in our family album shows me with a handbag. It took me forty years of different life experiences to formulate the necessary skills to fulfill "MY DESTINY...".

After graduating from the University of Texas, I headed to Miami Beach to the wonderful world of Retailing. Starting in the purchasing department of Jordan Marsh, I quickly became enamored with the world of buyers, manufacturers and merchandising. In 1984, I was lured out of retailing soft goods to the selling, marketing, designing and merchandising of new homes. After fifteen years as Sales and Marketing Director for national homebuilders, I decided to pursue my passion for creating products for the retail trade.

As I developed my business plan for My Destiny..., I had two goals. One was to design and create beautiful wearable and collectible art accessories for women and their homes. My second goal was to utilize the talents of other women to help me execute my plan. My success with My Destiny... has been the result of a group of extremely talented women who sew the bags and constantly amaze me with their wonderful ideas.

After several months of product Research and Development, My Destiny... was launched. My original products consisted of a unique artistically wire wrapped beaded handle handbag coordinated with unusual fabric. Each handbag comes in a limited number and is named after a city. To round out the wearable art, I designed necklaces and bracelets with beads, art glass and artistic wire wrap. For the home, my designs included wine glasses and art glass cheese trays with beads and artistic wire wrap.

After test marketing my products in Houston, Texas, I developed a sales and marketing strategy that is targeted to high-end boutiques and catalogs. In mid 2002, my team and I implemented our sales and customer demand for our products has been exciting.

Once again the pictures in our family album show me with a handbag. through MY DESTINY…, I am doing all the things I love: Designing, (shopping, my second passion, for beautiful material and beads) manufacturing, merchandising and selling products that have been my passion since an early age.
